Salman Khan Calls ‘Battle of Galwan’ One of His Most Physically Challenging Films

MUMBAI, July 17 – Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has revealed that his upcoming war drama Battle of Galwan is among the most physically demanding projects he has worked on in his career.

Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, best known for Shootout at Lokhandwala, the film is based on the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese forces.

“It’s physically exhausting. Each year it gets harder — every month, every day. I now need to devote more time to training. Earlier, I could prepare in a week or two, but now I’m running, kicking, punching — this role demands that,” said Khan. He noted that unlike his previous film Sikandar, which had a different action style, this one is especially intense due to the extreme conditions. “Shooting in Ladakh, dealing with high altitudes and freezing waters — that’s another level of difficulty.”

Khan said he is enthusiastic about the film, despite the challenges. “When I signed it, I knew it would be tough. I have about 20 days of shooting in Ladakh and another week or so in cold water. We begin filming this month,” he shared.

Although Salman’s films are often released during Eid, reports suggest Battle of Galwan may instead hit theaters in January or June next year. When asked, the 59-year-old actor confirmed, “Yes, January.”

He also confirmed that a sequel to his much-loved 2015 film Bajrangi Bhaijaan is in development. “I really liked the original. The sequel will carry a similar emotional tone, but it will be a new story,” he said, as the film marks its 10th anniversary this week.

Khan, who has long been passionate about cycling and biking, spoke at a press event for the Indian Supercross Racing League (ISRL), where he serves as brand ambassador. “I’ve always been a rider — from bicycles to bikes, I love them all, though I don’t ride as much these days,” he added, while warning fans not to race on public roads.
