India Warns Nationals Against Using Malaysia’s Visa-Free Entry To Seek Employment

0

India on Tuesday advised its nationals in Malaysia not to use the country’s 30-day visa-free entry facility to seek employment.

In an advisory posted on X, the High Commission of India in Kuala Lumpur said it has noticed a “noticeable increase” in Indian nationals arriving in Malaysia who are “misled by unscrupulous agents with false job promises.”

The High Commission said the 30-day visa-free facility is meant for tourism and social visits and does not permit employment.

“There is a noticeable increase in Indian nationals arriving in Malaysia using the 30-day visa-free facility to seek employment. The High Commission of India, Kuala Lumpur, alerts Indian nationals travelling to Malaysia on tourist visas against taking up employment,” the post said.

“Many Indian nationals are misled by unscrupulous agents with false job promises, leading to overstay, illegal status, exploitation, detention and legal action. This is a clear violation of immigration rules, as the visa-free entry facility which permits Indian passport holders to stay in Malaysia for up to 30 days is granted for tourism and social visits only,” it said.

The advisory mentions that “genuine tourists must carry valid and verifiable documentation such as a confirmed return ticket, hotel booking, online submission of the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) three days before the arrival date, and a passport with minimum a 6-month validity, to avoid any immigration-related issues on arrival in Malaysia.”

The high commission has “strictly advised” not to travel to Malaysia for work/employment purposes without a work permit or visa with reference (VDR). (Agencies)

Congress questions delay in Ram temple donation theft chargesheet

0

The Congress on Tuesday questioned the delay in the filing of chargesheet in the Ram temple donation theft probe, and took a swipe at the BJP with a play on the lyrics of the 1971 Bollywood song “Ram ka naam badnaam na karo”.

The opposition party reiterated its demands for a forensic audit of the entire system, strict action against those responsible, and ensuring that the investigation is conducted with complete transparency in the matter.

Congress general secretary in-charge communications Jairam Ramesh shared the screenshot of a media report which stated that new revelations have emerged in the case of alleged embezzlement of donations at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya, with Solicitor General Tashar Mehta pointing out that forensic examination of CCTV footage from the temple premises revealed 105 incidents of donation theft. The preliminary probe had previously reported 70 incidents.

In his post in Hindi, Ramesh said, “Chanda chori, Aastha dhokha. ‘Dekho o BJP walon, tum ye kaam na karo, ram ka naam badnam na karo, badnam na karo!’” he said in a play on the lyrics of the song “Dekho o diwanon tum ye kaam na karo ram ka naam badnaam na karo” from the 1971 Dev Anand-starrer “Hare Rama Hare Krishna”.

Just three days to go for the investigation into the “theft” of donations at the Ram temple in Ayodhya to complete three months, but it’s shameful that no chargesheet has been filed against the accused even now, Ramesh said.

If the chargesheet isn’t filed by September 25, the path will be clear for the minor players in the country’s most “shameful donation theft case” to get bail, he pointed out.

“Let us make it clear that the people of the country have absolutely no faith in such an SIT or any government chargesheet where there’s a lingering suspicion of protecting the big fish. Those who claimed there was nothing worth reporting are now admitting in their own investigation that the donation thefts have been captured not 70, but 105 times on CCTV alone, which they can’t deny even if they try,” the Congress leader said.

It’s not hard to understand why there’s a delay in filing the chargesheet, Ramesh said.

The issue is about diverting attention from the big thieves and their protectors, the Congress general secretary alleged.

“The question is also being raised: Who and why is protecting the masterminds behind the planned donation theft at the Lord Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya?” Ramesh said.

In this serious case, serious questions continue to arise about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s silence and his “help” to the accused in the “donation theft”, he said.

“The public has direct and clear questions in their minds: Why hasn’t action been taken against the big fish in the case so far? When will there be tough questioning of them?” Ramesh said.

Who and why wants to avoid an investigation under the Supreme Court’s supervision to protect the real culprits, he asked.

Ramesh further questioned as to why the Trust hasn’t been dissolved yet.

“We believe that under the guise of the SIT, the BJP’s double-engine governments are working to protect the accused in the donation theft linked to BJP-RSS,” he said.

The question now is not just about the accused, but also about the accountability of those under whose watch this all happened, he said.

“Prime Minister ji, remember that you will have to answer for your silence on this serious matter tied to the nation’s faith,” Ramesh said.

The Congress’s demand is crystal clear –conduct a forensic audit of the entire system, take strict action against those responsible, and ensure the investigation is conducted with complete transparency, he said.

“Modi ji, the offerings came in the name of Lord Shri Ram. Those who have taken credit for its management and for selecting the managers will also have to take responsibility for this ‘chanda chori’,” Ramesh said.

His remarks came a day after the Supreme Court was told that the court-appointed Special Investigation Team probing the alleged embezzlement of donations at the Ram temple in Ayodhya will file its first chargesheet on or before September 25.

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta told a bench comprising Chief Justice Surya Kant and Justices Joymalya Bagchi and V Mohana that the statutory 90-day period from the first arrest in the case would lapse soon.

“Ninety days from the date of the first arrest are going to be over on September 25, so we will have to file the chargesheet, otherwise, they (the accused) will get default bail,” Mehta said.

The top court also perused a detailed status report submitted by the SIT in a sealed cover.

Under Section 167 (2) of the CrPC, an accused becomes entitled to grant of statutory bail if the probe agency fails to file the chargesheet in the trial court within the stipulated period of either 60 or 90 days.

The top court had earlier asked the SIT to complete its investigation expeditiously and take it to a logical conclusion.

After allegations of irregularities in the management of donations surfaced at the Ram temple, several petitioners, including RJD MP Sudhakar Singh, moved the apex court seeking a probe by the CBI and a forensic audit of the finances of the temple trust.

Three Rusted Mines Found In J&K’s Poonch, Safely Destroyed

Three rusted landmines were found and subsequently destroyed in Mendhar sector of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, officials said.

The mines were recovered by army personnel while carrying out some work in Phagwari Gali area near border village Dharana Basoni, the officials said.

They said the recovered explosive items were safely disposed by the bomb disposal team of the Army without causing any damage.

As part of the counter-infiltration strategy, the army is using landmines to plug the possible infiltration routes and sometimes the explosive devices get dislocated due to rains.

NC, BJP Members Spar On Issue Of Holiday On Anniversaries Of Maharaja Hari Singh, Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah

0

The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly on Tuesday witnessed noisy scenes after an NC MLA demanded that either the holiday on the birth anniversary of party founder Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah be restored or the holiday on the anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh be cancelled.

As soon as the proceedings began, ruling National Conference (NC) MLA Abdul Majeed Larmi made the demand.

However, the BJP MLAs opposed it, creating a ruckus in the House.

BJP MLA Devayani Rana said the holiday on the anniversary of the Maharaja will not be cancelled.

Supporting the demand for holiday on former chief minister Abdullah’s anniversary, NC MLA Nazir Gurezi said the NC founder was the peoples’ leader.

As the BJP members raised slogans against the government, Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather asked them that if Larmi has put his view in the House, why were they protesting.

The Speaker stood on his feet, and asked the BJP MLAs not to protest and take their seats.

NC chief whip Mubarak Gul said the demand for holiday on Abdullah’s anniversary is the party’s stand.

“The NC government was there for many years. But, we did not change any name or cancel holidays,” he said.

The PDP also supported the demand for a holiday on Abdullah’s anniversary.

PDP MLA Waheed Para however, said the party also wants the restoration of holiday on July 13 as a tribute to those killed while protesting against the Maharaja’s rule.

The NC MLAs also supported Para’s demand.

As the ruckus continued, BJP MLA Surjit Sing Slathia said his party wants the House to function and demanded answers from the government on the issues raised by the opposition.

Congress MLA Nizamuddin Bhat said “hooliganism” will not be allowed and there should be a consensus on the issue of the holiday.

The Speaker said the issue will not be resolved by creating ruckus in the assembly.

“If the House wants to discuss it, I will give some time, but not now. Don’t disturb the House,” he said.

The Speaker said if the issues have to be raised, there are rules and we have to function according to list of business.

“The government has to get a notice so that it will respond,” Rather said.

This infuriated the BJP members who staged a walkout from the House, raising slogans like “Nikami sarkar hai hai” (useless government).

However, a lone BJP MLA Vikram Randhawa sat in the House as Chief Minister Omar Abdullah responded to his listed question.

“I salute the MLA as he sat in the House even as all his party MLAs left. He sat here for public interest. This shows the difference between a true MLA and a fake MLA,” the CM said.

However, the MLA said he came back to the House after the walkout “just for the answer by the CM”.

AAP MLA from Doda, Mehraj Malik also raised the issue of amnesty to electricity consumers.

Malik requested the Speaker to allow him to talk on the issue, but he was not allowed.

“Why won’t you allow me to speak? You have to listen to me. You are the custodian of the House,” Malik said.

However, this triggered an uproar from the treasury benches who asked the MLA to show respect to the Chair.

In protest, Malik staged a walkout.

Speaker Rather said members should maintain decorum. “He (Malik) doesn’t know how to speak. I will not tolerate this nonsense. I would have taught him a lesson, but I stopped myself. Members should maintain decorum,” Rather added.

Power Tariff Hike Puts Rs 251 Crore Burden On Consumers, Govt Admits In Assembly

0

Consumers in Jammu and Kashmir will have to pay an additional Rs 251 crore due to recent tariff hike, the government admitted in the Legislative Assembly on Tuesday.

In a written reply to a question by MLA Sajad Gani Lone, the Power Development Department said the 6.83% tariff hike, recently notified by the Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission (JERC), is expected to generate Rs 251 crore in additional revenue for DISCOMs during 2026-27.

The government said the tariff revision was long overdue and was required to bridge the gap between the cost of electricity supply and revenue realised and to meet the Annual Revenue Requirement (ARR) of the DISCOMs.

The government said it would still have to bear more than Rs 4,500 crore as subsidy to meet the power purchase cost of the DISCOMs.

The department also revealed that power tariff dues amounting to Rs 4385.30 crore are outstanding against Jammu and Kashmir and Central Government departments.

On revenue collection, the government informed that domestic consumers in Kashmir Valley generated Rs 1,455.90 crore in 2025-26, compared to Rs 1,238.07 crore in 2024-25.

During 2026-27 up to August, the revenue stood at Rs 547.79 crore, including Rs 383.08 crore from metered consumers and Rs 164.71 crore from flat-rate consumers.

The government further said the scheme providing 200 units of free electricity to eligible AAY households is being implemented through a RESCO-based rooftop solar scheme under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. The tendering process is under evaluation, and eligible households will start receiving the benefit after commissioning of the rooftop solar systems.

Important Information Before Testing Player Protection Tools

Player protection tools represent a standard part of online gambling in Spain. They provide you with practical ways to regulate how much time and money you spend. Before you enable any feature, you should be aware of exactly what it does, what it can’t do, and where to get extra support. This guide covers deposit limits, session reminders, self-exclusion, and the other safeguards offered at licensed platforms like Quickbet casino protección del jugador, so you understand what you’re signing up for and don’t get caught off guard. The Spanish gambling regulator, the Dirección General de Ordenación del Juego (DGOJ), mandates all licensed operators to provide a minimum set of responsible gambling tools. The way those tools are implemented, though, can differ from one site to the next. Understanding each option ahead of time helps you dodge common mistakes and set expectations you can actually meet. If you’re managing a casual hobby, or if you’ve spotted some early warning signs, being aware of what protections are out there is the first step to staying safe. Here’s what you must understand before you hit ‘activate’ on any of these features.

What Exactly Are Player Protection Tools and Their Importance in Spain

Player protection tools are built-in features that enable you to define limits on your play. They cover deposit caps, session time alerts, reality check pop-ups, self-exclusion, and cooling-off breaks. In Spain, these are not optional features; the DGOJ requires every licensed operator provide a core set of responsible gambling controls. The goal: manage expenditure and step in before gambling causes serious harm. A lot of people think these tools are only for folks with a serious problem, but they’re intended for anyone. A casual gambler may establish a deposit limit to keep to a monthly budget. If you’re beginning to see some red flags, a cooling-off period gives you immediate breathing room. When you see these tools as preventive—not just crisis-mode—it removes the stigma and prompts players to try them sooner.

Session Time Limits: Managing The Time You Play

Session time limits dictate the time you may play during a single session. Once the limit is reached, the platform either disconnects you or hits you with a message. It’s there to break the trance of engaging play, so you avoid look up and realise three hours have vanished. Before you switch this on, reflect on your real behaviors. If you often play for half an hour after dinner, set a 45-minute limit. If you’re the type who stays up way too late pursuing losses, a more restrictive limit might help. Don’t set a limit so generous that you rarely hit it; the whole point is to force a point of decision. Additionally verify if you are able to just log out and back in to clear the timer—that workaround does not function on every platform.

Personal Screening Quizzes: Detecting Harmful Patterns Early

Self-evaluation tools are anonymous surveys that aid you in evaluating your wagering patterns. They inquire about pursuing lost money, hiding your gambling from others, getting funds to bet, or getting edgy when you try to cut back. Many responsible gambling portals in Spain link to standardised tests based on the DSM-5 framework. The results aren’t a clinical determination, but they can raise warning signs. Respond as honestly as you can, even when the inquiries make you squirm. If the test points to moderate or high danger, regard it as a clear sign to use other preventive features or contact help. Spanish organizations like FEJAR provide free therapy. Incorporating a self-assessment into your monthly schedule allows you to identify gradual changes before they escalate.

Cooldown Periods: A Short-Term Pause

A pause period is a temporary respite from gaming, spanning 24 hours to a couple of weeks. It’s not complete self-exclusion; consider it a timeout after a tough session. Deposits and bets are blocked, but your account remains accessible. A lot of Spanish websites, Quickbet casino among them, let you turn this on from account settings. This flexibility provides immediate relief without binding you to a lengthy obligation. Prior to clicking the button, be truthful with yourself: why do you require a pause? If the craving comes screaming back the moment the period ends, that might be a sign to take a longer break or get professional help. Pausing won’t interfere with any winnings due for withdrawal, and support staff can help you oversee the account during your respite.

Deposit Limits: Setting Them and What You Can Expect

A deposit limit imposes a strict limit on how much cash you can move into your account per day, week, or month. When you hit that ceiling, the platform blocks any more deposits until the time window rolls over. Under Spanish rules, if you want to lower your limit, it kicks in right away. But if you try to raise or remove it, there’s a mandatory cooldown—normally 24 hours—to stop spur-of-the-moment decisions. Before you set a limit, take an honest look at what you can afford to lose. Pick a figure that fits your entertainment budget, not your hopes. One thing to remember: a deposit limit never stops you from withdrawing winnings or using money already in your account. Spend a few minutes getting your limits right, and it’ll make a huge difference down the road.

Exclusion: Pausing from Gambling

Self-exclusion blocks you from your account for a fixed period—anywhere from six months to five years, or even permanently. In Spain, the RGIAJ national register enables you to self-exclude from every licensed online operator with a one form. Once you are enrolled, it’s binding; you can’t reverse it until the time is up. During that time, opening a new account with any Spanish operator is impossible. This is a powerful tool for anyone who knows they’ve lost their grip, but it’s not an action to click without careful consideration about it. The complete process is confidential, designed to protect, not punish. Pairing self-exclusion with help from FEJAR or Jugadores Anónimos handles the root issues better than just locking yourself out.

Reality Checks: Včasná upozornění That Keep You Aware

Připomínky jsou vyskakovací okna které přeruší hru a informují vás o délce vašeho hraní případně o vašich výdajích. Ve Španělsku operators have to offer them at intervals you pick—každých 30, 60, či 90 minut, například. Hra ztuhne, musíte zprávu odsouhlasit, a poté hraje dál. Tato krátká pauza přeruší automatický rytmus and makes you think. Když na displeji uvidíte že u hry trávíte dvě hodiny, you might call it a night. Nastavení upozornění příliš zřídka makes them pointless; setting them too often se stává obtěžujícím. Interval 45–60 minut is a good midpoint. Časové kontroly don’t lock you out, proto je vhodné je kombinovat s limitem vkladu či relace gives you a stronger net.

Getting Professional Help and Spanish Support Networks

If the built-in tools are insufficient, professional help is easy to locate in Spain. FEJAR, the national federation for recovered gamblers, provides free therapy and support groups across most of the country’s autonomous communities. The public health system also has specialist units for addressing gambling disorder. The DGOJ’s site lists authorised providers and provides a direct link to the RGIAJ self-exclusion register. If you want to stay anonymous, Jugadores Anónimos holds regular meetings, both face-to-face and online. Before you reach out, writing a quick summary of what’s going on can help, but you do not have to have everything sorted. Family members struggling because of a loved one’s gambling can also get support through FEJAR. Combining professional treatment alongside platform tools offers you a full safety net.
