Jammu, April 1, 2025Jammu Police, South Zone, continues its sustained drive against illegal mining under “Operation Ploughing”, with PP Belicharana seizing a Poclain machine engaged in unauthorized excavation. This firm action, undertaken under the supervision of SSP Jammu, SP City South, and SDPO South, underscores Jammu Police’s commitment to curbing illicit mining activities that threaten the region’s environmental stability.In addition to this, police teams across the South Zone have intensified enforcement measures: • P/S Gangyal: Challaned 05 vehicles and seized 02 vehicles under MV Act, and issued 04 challans under COTPA (Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act), along with one preventive action. • P/S Bagh-e-Bahu and PP Bhatindi: Each undertook one preventive action to maintain law and order. • PP Digiana: Challaned 02 vehicles under the MV Act and took one preventive action. • PP Greater Kailash seized 03 vehicles under MV Act. • PP Sanik Colony chalaned 04 vehicles under MV Act.
