Drug Control, Police Team conducts joint inspections to curb misuse of Psychotropic Drugs in Ramban

RAMBAN, AUGUST 12: In a determined effort to ensure strict compliance with drug control regulations and prevent the misuse of psychotropic substances, a joint team of the Drug Control Department and Police today conducted extensive inspections in Ramban town.
The inspections focused on verifying adherence to legal provisions governing the sale and distribution of psychotropic and other habit-forming drugs by local chemists.
The team meticulously scrutinized sales records, stock registers and expiry dates of medicines to ensure compliance.
The Administration has reiterated its commitment to safeguarding public health and warned that stringent action will be taken against any violations.
The Drug Control Officer Ramban has instructed all medical establishments to restrict the sale of psychotropic drugs strictly to legitimate needs, only against valid prescriptions and to maintain proper documentation as mandated by law.
Chemists were also directed to ensure all medicines are within expiry and records are up to date. The public has been assured that such inspections will be conducted regularly, with offenders facing strict legal consequences to uphold drug safety and ensure access to quality, safe and effective medicines in the district.
