Director Agriculture Kashmir visits Baramulla
Asks officers to work shoulder to shoulder with the farmers for the overall development of Agriculture sector
SRINAGAR, NOVEMBER 25: The Director Agriculture Kashmir, Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal today visited different areas of district Baramulla and held interaction with the farmers of different villages besides monitoring various agriculture activities.
The Director met the farmers of different areas on field and took on spot feedback regarding the various interventions introduced by the Department and adopted by the farmers of the area.
Speaking on the occasion, the Director assured the farmers that the Department is committed to provide technical guidance to them during various agriculture activities. He asked the farmers to strictly follow the instructions and guidance provided to them by the department (Extension workers).
He said that the Department is endeavoring to provide farmers with the latest technological interventions during the cultivation of different agricultural crops so that the good returns could be fetched and socio-economic transformation of the farming community of the region could be achieved.
Iqbal directed the concerned officers of the Department to assist and facilitate the farmers during different post harvest management activities and winter cultivation of different agriculture crops. He asked the officers to work shoulder to shoulder with the farming community of the region.
Earlier, the Director distributed Knapsack Sprayers among the farmers.
Later, the Director visited the under construction Tissue culture laboratory which is being established (in the private sector) at Pattan.
The Director was accompanied by Deputy Director Agriculture (central) Wahid-ul-Reham, Chief Agriculture Officer Baramulla Yadwinder Singh, Water use specialist Nelofar Qureshi and other senior officers of the department.
