DDC Shopian visits various areas of Block Kaprin, Shopian
Inspects developmental works
SHOPIAN, JUNE 11: The District Development Commissioner (DDC), Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya today visited various areas of Block Kaprin and Block Shopian of the district to take stock of different ongoing developmental works.
The DDC visited Wangam, Mantribugh, Kudsu, Bradipora, Gagren and took stock of under construction developmental works being executed under PMGSY, R&B and other executing agencies.
Enroute, DDC met people of these areas who apprised him about various issues particularly relating to improvement of roads, construction of lanes and drains, protection bund and improvements in other services.
At Wangam, the people especially raised the issue of road connectivity from Wangam to Mantribugh being executed by PMGSY.
The DDC heard them patiently and assured that all their genuine issues would be addressed in a time bound manner for the well-being of the people of the area.
He directed the concerned executing agencies to work with dedication, speed up the pace of developmental works and also gear up men and machinery for completing the works within a stipulated time frame, and exhorted upon concerned to facilitate more participation of common masses in developmental planning and execution, especially PRIs.
The DDC directed Ex. Engineer R&B for construction of footpaths on both sides of the road of the Shopian town, ahead of Krala Masjid Shopian so that the town looks aesthetic.
He also directed Executive Officer Municipal Council Shopian for demolishing the encroachments near Tak Masjid to avoid the risk of accidents and jamming in the main town of the district and also exhorted for mobilizing men and machinery for demolishing the encroachments in the town and other sites. He also directed the AEE, PDD for relocation of electric poles which are a great hindrance at some places in the town.
Assistant Commissioner Development, ACP Shopian, Ex. Engineer R&B Shopian, AEE PDD, BDOs and other concerned officers and officials accompanied the DDC.
