Cash and Contraband: Jammu Police, South Zone’s Vigilance Pays Off, Drug Peddler Nabbed with Heroin and Cash in Narwal Area

Continuing its aggressive campaign against drug abuse, Jammu Police, South Zone, achieved a significant breakthrough by arresting a drug peddler in the Narwal area and recovering a substantial quantity of contraband along with illicit cash proceeds.

On May 25, 2025, a patrolling team of Police Station Bahu Fort, led by SHO PS Bahu Fort Inspr Rajesh Jasrotia and ICPP Narwal PSI Parshotam Singh under the direct supervision of SDPO City East Sh. Sheezan Bhat-JKPS and SP South Sh. Ajay Sharma-JKPS and under overall supervision of SSP Jammu Sh. Joginder Singh-JKPS, intercepted a suspicious individual in the Narwal locality. Upon search, 5 grams of heroin-like substance and Rs. 2.75 lakh in cash were recovered from the possession of the accused:
• Jonny Kumar, S/o Roshan Lal, R/o Rajeev Nagar, Narwal, Jammu.

The case has been registered under FIR No. 167/2025 U/S 8/21/22/27A NDPS Act at Police Station Bahu Fort, and further investigation is underway to unearth the broader network involved.

While briefing , Senior Superintendent of Police, Jammu reiterated the commitment of jammu police to eliminate the menace of drug abuse from the district. He emphasized the importance of community support in tackling the social issue.
