2nd National Lok Adalat organized at #Budgam

BUDGAM, MAY 14: 2nd National Lok Adalat was today  organized   in District Budgam which was inaugurated by  Chairman District Legal Services Authority Budgam,  Mohammad Ashraf Malik at District Court Complex.

Court had identified cases for the Lok Adalat beforehand and the same were placed before eight  different benches constituted by DLSA Budgam for settlement in National Lok Adalat.

Cases for settlement included cases of Civil, Criminal Compoundable, Cheque bounce, Bank matters, MACT, Land Compensation, Matrimonial, Tenancy, Electricity and Pre-litigation matters.

 A total number of 25,000 pre litigation matters were taken up amongst which 18,853 number of pre litigation matters were settled. It included pre litigation petitions, PDD matters, bank recovery matters, PHE cases, Social Welfare Schemes, matrimonial disputes, land disputes, BSNL cases, municipality cases and other Government schemes etc. including Old Age Pension, Widow Pension, Physically Challenged Persons, Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension, National Family Pension Scheme Pradhan Mantri Awaaz Youjna, scholarships including pre matric, post matric and merit cum means scholarship cases etc. 

Moreover, an amount of Rs. 06 crore 45 lacs has been realized in pre litigations matters.

 Also,  342 post litigation matters were taken up for their amicable settlement out of which 159 number of matters were settled.
