Vigilance Awareness Week: ACB organises sensitization event at Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, OCTOBER 28: As part of the ongoing Vigilance Awareness Week, an awareness session was today organized by the Anti-Corruption Bureau in collaboration with the District Administration Udhampur to sensitize functionaries of the Health Department and members of civil society about the anti-corruption laws, working of ACB and significance of transparency and accountability in public service.
Principal Government Medical College Udhampur Dr Pramod Kalsotra was the Chief Guest.
At the outset, Dy. SP Gurmeet Singh gave a detailed PowerPoint presentation on corruption and its adverse impact on society. He sensitized the participants about the functioning of the Anti-Corruption Bureau and urged everyone to refrain from being part of any corrupt practice. He further emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in eradicating corruption from society.
While addressing the gathering, the chief guest extended gratitude to the Anti-Corruption Bureau for organizing the awareness programme and lauded the efforts made to promote transparency and accountability. He underlined the pivotal role of education in inculcating moral and ethical values among individuals, stressing that integrity must be upheld in both personal and professional spheres. He exhorted all officers and officials to work with dedication, honesty and fairness, ensuring transparency and accountability in public service.
The Principal GMC administered the Integrity Pledge to the officers and officials, who vowed to uphold the principles of integrity, transparency, accountability and fairness in their professional conduct.
Several other speakers also shared their views on the objectives of Vigilance Awareness Week, highlighting the need for moral integrity and the crucial role of government employees in eliminating corruption from all walks of life.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Sangeeta Slathia, who expressed gratitude to all participants for their active involvement and support in making the event successful.
