UN Chief Mourns Loss of Lives in Flash Floods Across India, Pakistan

United Nations, Aug 18 — UN Secretary-General António Guterres has voiced deep sorrow over the heavy loss of lives caused by the recent flash floods in India and Pakistan.

In a statement issued by his spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric on Sunday, Guterres extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and expressed solidarity with those impacted by the disaster.

He said UN Country Teams are ready to support both governments with any required assistance.

According to reports, hundreds of people have lost their lives in the floods, with many others still missing.
