Udhampur: DDC Chairperson, DC hold public outreach camp at Panchayat Moud
Take numerous decisions for welfare of locals
UDHAMPUR, JUNE 01: District Development Council Chairperson, Udhampur Lal Chand and Deputy Commissioner, Krittika Jyotsna today conducted public grievances redressal camp at panchayat Moud of Block Narsoo here under Weekly Block Diwas program.
DDC Councillor, Narsoo, Subash Chander; BDC Chairman, Sardara Begum; DDC Councillor Ghordi, Rakesh Sharma, Sarpanches, Panches and general public of adjoining Panchayats projected several demands and issues.
They demanded Up-gradation of High School Moud to Higher Secondary level and early completion of additional classrooms, meeting shortage of staff in educational institutions, opening of ration depot, Land compensation, PMAY benefits to left out eligible households, Ambulance for the area, meeting dearth of electric poles, posting of Urdu teachers in Government schools, Construction of bridge at ward number-06, filling of Chowkidar post, Implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission scheme, minimizing unscheduled power cuts, Augmentation of water supply, Construction of footpath from National Highway to cremation Ghat etc.
After giving a patient hearing, the DC resolved the majority of grievances on the spot by passing directions to the concerned officers and concerned subordinate officials.
The DDC Chairperson and the DC asked the officers to note down the demands and redress the same on priority basis and submit the details of the rest of the issues to higher authorities for consideration.
While interacting with the PRIs and general public of the areas, the DDC Chairperson said that public outreach programmes were an important part of effective governance envisaging resolution of the peopleโs issues in their own areas.
After concluding the public outreach camp, the DC also inspected the ongoing development works of CFC building and a Culvert being executed by RDD at Mound. En-route, the DC also inspected PMGSY road phase-1 from Moud to Pattian and Samroli to upper Samroli. The executing agencies were asked to expedite the progress of work for early completion.
