The Handicrafts and Handloom Department has extended loans worth ₹14.71 crore to artisans and weavers under its Credit Card Scheme during the first two quarters of the current financial year.Of 3,885 applications sponsored to banks, 1,332 have been sanctioned and 1,054 disbursed by September 2026.The initiative aims to provide working capital to craftspeople for setting up units and purchasing raw materials and tools, supporting the traditional handicrafts and handloom sector.
