Sopore Police Arrest Drug Peddler; Psychotropic Substances Seized in Continued Anti-Narcotics Drive

Sopore, Oct 22: Continuing its relentless campaign against the drug menace, Sopore Police on Wednesday arrested a drug peddler during naka checking at Sidiq Colony under the jurisdiction of Police Station Sopore.

The accused has been identified as Junaid Mushtaq Tabardar, son of Mushtaq Ahmad Tabardar, resident of Batpora Sopore.

During the search, police recovered a quantity of psychotropic substances, including Codeine Phosphate bottles and Alprazolam tablets, from his possession.

A case under FIR No. 234/2025 has been registered at Police Station Sopore under relevant sections of the NDPS Act. Investigation is underway to trace the source of supply and uncover the broader network behind the illegal trade.

Sopore Police reaffirmed its zero-tolerance policy towards narcotics, vowing to continue the crackdown on drug traffickers with full intensity. The public has been urged to remain alert and report any suspicious drug-related activity to help create a drug-free Sopore.
