SMVDSB adds Satellite Dental Clinic to healthcare

Katra, Sept 9: Taking another significant welfare step as per the directions of Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, JK-UT who is also Chairman, SMVDSB, for the employees and their families stationed at Sanjichatt and adjoining areas, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board established Satellite Dental Healthcare Clinic at Sanjichatt by expanding the dental healthcare facilities now on the track, inaugurated today by Anshul Garg, Chief Executive Officer, SMVDSB. Earlier in 2015, Shrine Board established “Maa Durga Dental Clinic ” at Katra for the benefit of staff, pilgrims and community at large.
This newly established clinic in the premises of Medical Unit, Sanjichhat will provide basic dental services like extraction, cleaning of teeth, filling and preventive dental care to the visiting pilgrims, staff and largely their families stationed at Sanjichatt and adjoining areas. It is well equipped with modern equipment and other allied facilities like one dental chair, dental X-ray machine, scalers, sterilisation equipment and other allied facilities. Dental surgeons, technicians and other staff would be available to address the dental treatments. Provisions are also made to refer and treat patients at Katra dental clinic for specialized treatments.
Speaking on the occasion, the CEO said that this newly established facility as per the directions of Hon’ble Chairman would benefit about 1200 employees and their families at large stationed at Sanjichatt and adjoining areas like Bhawan, Bhairon Ji, Himkoti and Adhkwari besides, the visiting pilgrims. Now, the staff and their families need not climb down to seek medical assistance for oral health problems. The clinic will provide the primary dental care, which would help resolve the dental problems and would go a long way in providing dental care services to promote oral health among staff and their families, he said. He also enumerated various other measures that had already been taken for the general welfare of the shrine board employees. CEO also interacted with the staff and issued on the spot directions to the concerned for time bound disposal of personnel matters of the employees. He lauded the efforts made by the Shrine Board Staff to ensure greater facilitation of the pilgrims visiting the Shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji. Noteworthy, recently on Raising Day celebrations of SMVDSB, Lt Governor announced hardship allowance for 1450 SMVDSB employees posted at Higher Altitude.
Besides, CEO thanked Dr. Inder Dhir, a dental surgeon serving in Canada and a devotee of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji, for her support in setting up this dental clinic for the facilitation of pilgrims and staff. The clinic would be visited by Dental Surgeon Dr Oshin, Dr Kritika Rajput, Dr Romi Pandita, and Dr Sakshi Thakur on Tuesday and Wednesday of every 2nd and 4th week of month.
Among those present on the occasion were Dr. Sunil Sharma, Joint CEO; Sudhir Bali, SDM, Bhawan; Chander Parkash, Dy. CEO and Ajay Salaan, Assistant CEO, SMVDSB, officers, staff of the Shrine Board, and pilgrims at large.
