Shiv Sena launches awareness-cum-signature campaign in favor of Sec 371 Privilege sought to protect rights, cultural identity of son of soils JAMMU: Shiv Sena Jammu and Kashmir unit today launched an awareness-cum-signature campaign in support of restoration of state status, protection of rights of son of soils and privileges under Section 371 for Jammu and Kashmir to preserve its cultural identity.Shiv Sena leaders, under the leadership of Manish Sahni, President Shiv Sena J&K, started this campaign from Dogra Chowk in Jammu today. Sahni said that Jammu and Kashmir has got special enthusiasm among the public regarding the demand of Section 371. Along with this, there is a lot of resentment among the locals regarding the inclusion of non-locals in J&K electoral rolls to decide the future of the state.Sahni said that with the conspiracy to erase the cultural identity of the state, the rights of outsiders on the business and jobs of the state are increasing. He said that Jammu and Kashmir is a vulnerable area along the border state which is battling militancy for the last 35 years. When the 11 bordering states of the country including the Northeast can be given privileges under Section 371, then Jammu and Kashmir should not be treated step-motherly, he asserted.Sahni said that rising unemployment in the state is a matter of great concern. Jammu and Kashmir stands second with the highest unemployment rate in the country. He said that Shiv Sena will run this campaign at the district and Tehsil level to protect the rights of people of Jammu and Kashmir. Today on the first day, the awareness-cum-signature campaign has started in Jammu along with Kupwara under the leadership of Abdul Rashid while in Udhampur the campaign was initiated under the leadership of District President Sanjeev Kumar and Ashwani Prabhakar and in Doda under the leadership of Vinod Kotwal and Natwar Lal.Sahni said that during the signature campaign, enthusiasm has been seen among the public with regard to Section 371, hoping for a better future to preserve our cultural identity. In coming days, Shiv Sena will launch a mass movement on the aforesaid demand, along with this, Sahni has also invited the social and political organizations for protecting the rights of the local people to come on one platform and raise their voice with solidarity in favor of the above demands.Among those who were present include president Mehila wing Meenakshi Chibber , Chairman Rakesh Gupta, Vice President Balwant Singh, Raj Singh , Secretary Geeta Lakhotra, Dimple.
