Shiv Sena accuses BJP of breaching rights of local citizens
BJP sensed displeasure of local people: Sahni
JAMMU, Sept 10: Shiv Sena Jammu and Kashmir President Manish Sahni has accused the BJP of making Jammu and Kashmir a political laboratory and breaching the rights of the local people. He said that he is well aware of the growing resentment towards BJP among the local people and is now the BJP is making plans to fulfill their lust for power with the inclusion of non-locals in the electoral rolls of Jammu and Kashmir.Some senior party leaders, including Manish Sahni, today participated in the second round of the All-Party Meeting organized by Dr. Farooq Abdullah at his residence in Jammu today.Sahni said that the parties of Jammu and Kashmir division under the chairmanship of Dr. Farooq Abdullah have raised their voice in solidarity against the voting rights to non-locals in Jammu and Kashmir.Sahni said that the Election Commission has announced to give voting rights to non-locals without any criteria, which proves that the role of the Election Commission ally in fulfilling the agenda of the BJP in Jammu and Kashmir “Apna Mukhyamantri”. Sahni said that it was not told whether these non-local voters would be domicile holders or any person who has been coming and going here for years to do labour work or is living as a worker in any industry?. The Election Commission should clear all doubts by giving an explanation on this. Also, the government should tell how many domiciles of outsiders have been made, who have land, land or business establishments here, he asked?Sahni said that the rights of the local people are being violated along with looting our state resources, adding that the outsiders are being given stake in trade, jobs and now also in voting rights which seems to be a great threat to our cultural identity.Shiv Sena J&K President said that the BJP’s lust for power is proving to be heavy on the rights of the local people. He said that except a few parties supporting the BJP and its anti-people policies, all the opposition parties are united on this issue and it has been agreed to make the public aware and create a big mass movement aiming to protect the rights of people of Jammu and Kashmir. President Mehila wing Meenakshi Chibber and Gen secretary Vikas Bakshi were also present.
