SDM Thathri inspects Civic Works; sets firm deadlinesDODA, FEBRUARY 20: The Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Thathri, Sheetal Sharma undertook a detailed inspection of ongoing development works and civic infrastructure across the town, issuing specific and time-bound directions to ensure early completion of pending projects.Officials present during the inspection included the Tehsildar Thathri, Executive Engineer, Public Works Department (R&B), Assistant Executive Engineer Jal Shakti Department and the Executive Officer, Municipal Committee Thathri.Reviewing progress along the circular route near the Army Gate, the SDM directed the Executive Engineer, PWD (R&B), to complete the retaining wall within one week to ensure smooth vehicular movement ahead of the proposed culvert construction. The Station House Officer, Police Station Thathri, was instructed to regulate traffic during the execution of the works to minimise inconvenience to commuters.Leakages in water supply pipelines observed near the circular road and in front of the State Bank of India branch were flagged during the visit. The Jal Shakti Department was directed to carry out immediate repairs to ensure uninterrupted water supply and to enable completion of the pending concrete works.Taking note of an unauthorised tea stall shed installed near the office of the Assistant Registrar Cooperative, the SDM directed the Executive Officer, Municipal Committee and the Tehsildar to remove the encroachment and submit a compliance report without delay.During the inspection of tile work from National Academy Nallah to the Main Chowk, deficiencies in the laying process were observed. The contractor concerned was instructed to relay the tiles in accordance with prescribed standards under the supervision of the Executive Officer, Municipal Committee.Emphasising accountability, adherence to timelines and quality execution, SDM called for coordinated action among departments to ensure that civic works are completed without delay and in the larger public interest.
