Safer Internet Day: District Administration Jammu holds awareness session on digital safety
JAMMU, FEBRUARY 10: District Administration Jammu today organised an interactive awareness session on Safer Internet Day at the district headquarter, emphasising the importance of digital hygiene and cyber safety among government officials.
The event was inaugurated by Additional District Development Commissioner, Sher Singh with Additional Deputy Commissioner Ansuya Jamwal gracing the occasion as special guest. The session witnessed participation from district officers and staff members.
The awareness programme was led by District Informatics Officer and Director IT, Sanjeev Kapoor, who delivered a presentation on critical aspects of internet safety and digital practices. Speaking on the occasion, he highlighted how deeply integrated internet and technology have become in today’s workplace, stressing the crucial need to continuously update and upgrade our digital skills.
He elaborated on various cyber threats including phishing and phishing techniques used by scammers to defraud unsuspecting users. The session also covered essential topics such as social media etiquette, safe handling of official communications and documents and maintaining digital discipline in professional settings.
Concluding the event, ADC, Ansuya Jamwal thanked all participants and emphasised that continuous learning and adoption of safe digital practices are imperative in today’s technology driven environment. She urged all to remain vigilant and practice responsible internet usage both professionally and personally.
