Rafiabad Resident Found Dead in Pattan, Police Launch Probe

Baramulla, Dec 19: A man from the Rafiabad area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Pattan on Friday, prompting police to initiate an investigation.

An official said the deceased, a resident of Khanmoh Rafiabad, was working at the house of another person in Gousbug village of Pattan when his body was discovered under unexplained circumstances.

The deceased has been identified as Javaid Ahmed Mir, a resident of Khanmoh Rafiabad. Family members said they were informed about his death earlier in the day and have alleged foul play, demanding a thorough and impartial investigation.

“The cause of death must be properly investigated. We urge the authorities to ensure justice,” the family said.

Meanwhile, a police team rushed to the spot soon after the incident came to light. Authorities said an investigation is underway to ascertain the exact cause of death and all aspects of the case are being examined.
