Power@2047:Bijli Mahotsav celebrated at Dak Banglow Kishtwar
KISHTWAR, JULY 28: In continuation of series of campaigns and programme being held under the aegis of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, Power Development Department, in collaboration with NHPC and under the guidance of District Administration Kishtwar, today organised a grand function to celebrate the Bijli Mahotsav under the umbrella of Ujjwal Bharat Ujjwal Bhavishya:Power@2047 here at PWD Dak bunglow.
Vice Chairperson, District Development Council, Kishtwar Saima Parveen Lone was the chief guest and President Municipal Council Kishtwar Sajjad Ahmed Najjar was Guest of honor on the occasion.
Among others, the function was graced by BDC chairman Kishtwar Suresh Kumar Sharma; DDC member Kishtwar Zakir Hussain Butt; ADDC Kishtwar Sham Lal; Ex En JPDCL Altaf Hussain Sheikh; GM,(Civil) NHPC Dul Hasti Power Project Sharad Jaikar; MC Councilors ,PRIs and officials from NHPC and PDD besides women folk, children and students of adjoining areas.
At the outset, Senior Manager, HR,CPSE/Nodal Officer Davinder Koundel welcomed the participants and the programme started with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp.
Later, the officers of the JPDCL,NHPC and councilors highlighted the key achievements in the power sector in the rural and urban areas.
The purpose of organising the programme was to showcase the major achievements of ministry of power over the last few years in Village electrification , HH connectivity and other power up-gradation milestones that have been achieved in the rural electrification in remotest areas of J&K be it Paddar, Dachan or Drabshalla blocks under various CSSs of DDUGJY and Saubhagya.
With the implementation of PMDP and IPDS in urban areas, consumers are now having a quality supply of nearly 23 hours, the speakers said.
Further left out habitations too are being provided grid supply under RDSS sanctioned recently by GOI.
Speaking on the occasion, ADDC Kishtwar urged the people to keep check on power theft and make its judicious use. He particularly highlighted the role of women folk in the energy conservation.
An array of cultural items and a NukKad Natak themed around the Saving of Power was presented by school students on the occasion.
Personal experiences were also shared by councilors and other dignitaries regarding the implementation of various Power sector schemes and a paradigm shift in the power sector in recent years.
The programme was conducted by Avni Sen and concluded with Vote of thanks by Ex En PDD Altaf Hussain Sheikh.
