PM Vishavkarma Scheme can be a big game changer: Arvind
Stressing upon the people associated with the traditional trades to avail the benefits of PM Vishavkarma Scheme, Jammu and Kashmir BJP Secretary and Reasi district Prabhari, Arvind Gupta, said that the scheme can be a big game changer as it will bring prosperity in the lives of the poor people.
Arvind Gupta said that the BJP government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has recently, lunched PM Vishavkarma Scheme across the country with a motive of providing financial assistance/loan at concessional rate of interest to the people associated with different traditional trades. They can avail loan of rupees 1lakh and more on 5 percent interest.
At initial stage, one is provided training in the particular trade with stipend of rupees 500 per day and tool kit incentives of rupees 15,000 and rupees 1lakh is sanctioned. Later, when the trade goes up, he can further apply for more loan, which can be up to rupees 3 lakh.
Arvind Gupta, while elaborating on the eligibility criteria, said that a carpenter, blacksmith, barber, armourer, hammer and tool kit maker, gold smith, potter, cobbler, mason, washer man, tailor, garland maker, doll and toy maker, fishing net maker, boat maker and many other can apply for the loan under this scheme. As far decuments required, one desirous of applying for the load under PM Vishavkarma Scheme, must have aadhar card, mobile number linked with aadhar card, bank account passbook and ration card (if available).
He further informed that any person already registered for any other government scheme and one whose any member in the family is government employee, is not eligible for the scheme.
Arvind said that the scheme has covered about two dozen trades and the people dealing with any of them can further raise his source of earning livelihood by undergoing training to polish his expertise in a particular trade and become successful trade man in future.
