PDP’s Budgam Candidate Aga Muntazir Served Notice for Alleged MCC Violation

Budgam, Nov 4: The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Budgam bypoll, Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi, has been issued a show-cause notice for allegedly holding late-night campaign rallies without official permission.

According to the notice issued by the Nodal Officer for the Model Code of Conduct, several complaints and video evidence indicated that the candidate organised campaign events and processions during late-night hours on November 1 and 3 without prior approval.

The notice stated that such activities violate the Model Code of Conduct and disrupt the fairness of the electoral process.

Aga Muntazir has been directed to submit a written explanation within 24 hours, failing which action will be taken under relevant election laws.
