One Terrorist Killed, Army Officer Injured in Kulgam Gunfight

Srinagar, Sept 08: An encounter in the Guddar forest area of Kulgam district has left one terrorist dead and an Army officer injured, officials said on Monday.

The Army stated that the operation was launched jointly with the Police after specific intelligence input. Troops spotted suspicious movement, and when challenged, the terrorists opened fire, leading to a fierce exchange.

During the gunfight, one terrorist was killed while a junior commissioned officer sustained injuries. The operation is still underway, officials added.
