Motor Vehicles Department Jammu imposes fine of Rs 6.20 lakh for violation of traffic rules
JAMMU, MARCH 28: A team of the Motor Vehicles Department headed by RTO Jammu, Pankaj Bhagotra set up a special checkpoint during the night at different locations of the National Highway.
The team checked for violations of various visible offences under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and Central Motor Vehicles Rules 1989.
During the enforcement drive, more than 350 vehicles were checked. Out of these, 71 vehicles were compounded on the spot for Rs 3.80 lakh and 11 vehicles were challaned for which Rs 2.40 lakh is expected to be realised from challans for various violations such as violation of route permit, plying without fitness, without permit, without speed limiting device and protruding of rods.
The enforcement team comprised of ARTO(P), Esha Chib; ARTO(G), Pawan Sharma; ARTO (HQ) Jammu, Mohd. Saleem; ARTO (Flying Squad), Tara Mani Sharma; Motor Vehicles Inspectors, Rajeev Kundal, Anupam Gandotra, Ranjeev Bhasin and other staff.
