Mission Shakti Samba organises awareness programme on Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan
SAMBA, SEPTEMBER 28: District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW), Mission Shakti organized an awareness programme on Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, here in the Government Higher Secondary School, Vijaypur under the aegis of District Social Welfare Department.
The programme was conducted under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Samba, Anuradha Gupta and attended by more than 60 students of the school.
During the programme, Dr. Ruchi Thakur, Women Welfare Officer, DHEW, Mansi Abrol and Ritika Banotra (District Coordinator, DHEW) informed that the main aim of the programme was to sensitize the youth including students on the ill effects of drugs.
Earlier, the speakers gave a brief introduction of DHEW, Mission Shakti and its functioning including various Women Centric and Government Welfare Schemes in vogue for Empowerment of women.
The District Coordinators also briefed the students about schemes currently active in the Department of Social Welfare such as One Stop Centre (SAKHI), ICPS, Women helpline 181, Child Helpline etc.
Dr. Nahida, resource person from (DRP resident) DH Samba, elaborated on abuse of drugs and their ill effects on the health of Children. She sensitised them about the different drives conducted jointly by government departments to eradicate this evil form the society.
Pinky Sharma (AFHC counsellor DH Samba) conducted a counseling session on drug abuse for the students.
The School Principal, Fateh Singh informed that the conselling of the students was done from time to time and various constructive activities are also being carried out by the school to aware students about the ill effects of drugs including physical activities, sports, competition on poem recitation, speeches, debates etc.
A pledge against the use of drugs under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan was also administered to students.
Sakhi One Stop Centre staff, ICPS team and Social Welfare Department staff were also present on the occasion.
