Man Detained at Srinagar Airport for Travelling on Fake Ticket

Srinagar, Dec 19: A man was detained at Srinagar International Airport on Friday after he was found travelling on a fake air ticket, officials said.

According to officials, the incident occurred early in the morning at the airport’s drop gate, where the individual was intercepted while preparing to travel from Srinagar to Delhi. During routine verification, the ticket presented by the passenger was found to be fake.

On further questioning, the passenger admitted that the ticket was forged. He was immediately taken into custody and his mobile phone was seized. A vehicle bearing registration number JK-04A-9887 (Tata Sumo), along with his associates, was also seized during the operation.

The detained individual and the seized items were subsequently handed over to Police Post Humhama for further investigation. Authorities have initiated legal proceedings to trace the source of the fake ticket and to ascertain the involvement of others in the case.
