Lok Adalat settles 22 cases in Poonch
POONCH, NOVEMBER 25: A Lok Adalat under supervision of Pr. District & Sessions Judge Poonch Ashok Kumar Shavan was organized today in District Courts Poonch, in which Judicial Officers, Bar Members, Bank Employees, litigants and general public participated with full enthusiasm.
While starting Lok Adalat, Chairman DLSA Poonch, Ashok Kumar Shavan (Pr. Distt. & Sessions Judge) Poonch highlighted the positive aspects of Lok Adalat and described it as the need of the hour and stressed upon the general public to come forward to take benefit of these Lok Adalat.
In all two benches were constituted to hear the cases. At District H.Q, the bench was presided by Ashok Kumar Shavan Chairman DLSA (Pr. Distt &Sessions Judge) Poonch.
At Surankote, the bench was presided over by Manzoor Ahmed Khan, Chairman TLSC Surankote.
A total of 51 cases were taken up in today’s Lok Adalat including civil, criminal, Bank Recovery, Pre-Litigation and other cases. Out of these 22 cases were settled by the two benches by way of Mediation, Conciliation and compromise. In Bank Recovery 2 cases were settled, 6 Criminal cases, 4 civil cases were also decided and anl amount of Rs. 1,90,000 was settled. Light refreshment was also served to all the participants.
