Khet CRP Dhok Road inaugurated, enhancing mobility for Army, local population

POONCH, DECEMBER 07: A major infrastructure milestone was achieved today in this border district with the inauguration of the Khet CRP Dhok Road, a crucial 4.8 km stretch that promises to significantly boost mobility and strategic connectivity in the region.
The road, work on which was began in September 2018, was officially inaugurated by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Ashok Kumar Sharma and Commanding Officer 25RR, Neelabh Bhardwaj, besides ACD Shakeel Ahmed; Tehsildar Mandi Ashfaq Hussain and members of the local community.
The construction of the 4.8 kilometer road was started in September 2018 at the sanctioned Cost of ₹27.5 Crore to facilitate seamless Army movement and provide all-weather connectivity to the local population.
Speaking on the occasion, Officer Commanding 79 RCC , Ashish Ranjan, EE(C) stated, “This 4.8 km road is more than just a piece of infrastructure; it is a vital link for our armed forces and a path to prosperity for the people of this region. The successful completion, despite challenging terrain, underscores the government’s commitment to both national security and socio-economic development.”
The road’s completion expected to significantly reduce travel time, improve the logistics chain for the armed forces operating in the area, and allow residents to access markets, healthcare, and educational facilities more easily. The financial outlay of ₹27.5 crore reflects the high-quality, durable construction designed to withstand heavy military traffic as well as adverse weather conditions.
