Khel Spardha Mahotsav commences at Kishtwar with grand inaugural ceremony

KISHTWAR, DECEMBER 23: The District Youth Services & Sports Department, in collaboration with the District Administration Kishtwar, organized an impressive inaugural ceremony to mark the commencement of Sansad Khel Spardha.
The prestigious event was formally inaugurated by District Development Commissioner, Pankaj Kumar Sharma here on the historic Chowgan Grounds. Chief Planning Officer (CPO) Akhil Thakur was the guest of honour who is also designated as the Nodal Officer for the sports event.
The mega sports extravaganza is all set to feature Volleyball, Football, Tug of War, Athletics, Yoga, Badminton, Chess and Wrestling contests, promoting sports culture, physical fitness and youth engagement at the grassroots level.
The Sansad Khel Spardha is being organized under the direction of Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh, whose continuous support and vision for youth empowerment through sports has been instrumental in encouraging such large-scale sporting initiatives in the region.
A special highlight of the inaugural ceremony was a demonstration match of Tug of War which captivated the audience and set an energetic tone for the competitions ahead. The demonstration showcased teamwork, strength and discipline, drawing loud applause from the spectators.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest emphasized the importance of sports in shaping disciplined, healthy and confident youth. He lauded the efforts of the Youth Services & Sports Department for providing a vibrant platform to young athletes to showcase their talent and encouraged participants to play with true sportsmanship.
The entire event is being conducted under the supervision of District Youth Services & Sports Officer, Jaffer Haider Sheikh who ensured meticulous planning and smooth execution of the inaugural function.
A large number of Zonal Physical Education Officers, officials of the Youth Services & Sports Department, coaches, players and sports enthusiasts were present on the occasion.
The Sansad Khel Spardha has been widely appreciated as a significant step towards nurturing sporting talent, promoting unity and fostering a culture of fitness and healthy competition among the youth of District Kishtwar.
