#JKRLM employees accord #farewell to Dr #Sehrish
SRINAGAR, MAY 06: Employees of the National Rural livelihoods Mission accorded a warm send-off to outgoing Mission Director, Dr.Syed Sehrish Asgar, who was recently transferred as Deputy Commissioner Barmaulla ,at a function held at institute of hotel Management Rajbagh here on Friday .
The function was attended by Additional Mission Director, JKRLM Reyaz Ahmad Beigh and Senior Project Managers & officials of the Department.
Speaking on the occasion the Additional Mission Director highlighted the contribution of Dr. Sehrish Asgar as Mission Director and applauded the various initiatives taken under her leadership which were appreciated both at the National Level and at the UT level.
The AMD added that because of her outstanding contribution towards the economic development of rural women under programme SAATH, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar, MD Jammu Kashmir Rural livelihood Mission (JKRLM) received the prestigious SKOCH Award.
During her tenure, Mission initiated UMEED women’s Haat which is a women empowerment initiative by the Jammu Kashmir Rural Livelihoods Mission (JKRLM) to bring the rural women self-help group members under one platform where they can showcase their skills, sell their products and build connections with potential market players, he added.
The Additional Mission Director stated that, Under her guidance the Mission has taken steps towards promoting digital transactions and providing door to door banking service in rural areas through Financial Inclusion Resource Persons. Another major initiative was to make SHG products available on e-commerce platforms like Amazon, Flipkart and Meesho, thus helping the rural women connect to global e-commerce platforms thereby upscaling their business.
Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar, while speaking on the occasion, recalled the association with the employees for working together in the organisation and thanked all the staff members for being a great support in achieving the various milestones.
She highlighted that the support from Lt Governor, Shri Manoj Sinha and Chief Secretary, Arun Kumar Mehta in materializing the ideas aiming at economic development of our Rural Women has been pivotal in shaping the program activities which have proven to be very effective on ground.
She further thanked the officials and staff of the Mission for their wholehearted cooperation during her tenure as Mission Director.
While encouraging the officials, Dr Sehrish said that they must work with zeal and to their full potential as the work of JKRLM is for the rural women of J&K.
The event was graced by Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, Special Finance Department, CEO, JK ERA and Mission Director, Jal Jeevan Mission.
