JKBOSE orders merger of Langate branch with sub-office Kupwara after R&B sought building possession
The locals along with PRIs on Tuesday held a protest as Jammu Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) ordered merger of Langate Branch with sub-office Kupwara after Roads and Buildings department sought back the possession of its building.
The order came after R&B officer, where from it was functioning, was locked by building owner over rent issues. Following this the R&B authorities sought back possession of building that was being occupied by JKBOSE
Meanwhile, locals led by DDC Chairman Kupwara and BDC Chairman Langate demanded that the order be revoked in the interest of public.
An official of R&B told KNS that office occupied by JKBOSE belongs to R&B, however, it was given to Board authorities. โNow we want the possession back as the building we are operating from has been locked by the landlord.โ
He also said that in this regard they had written a letter to the higher ups for early redressal.
Interestingly, the authorities ordered merger of Langate branch office with sub-office Kupwara to settle the issue. However, locals expressed resentment over the move, stating that it will cause l inconvenience to the public.
DDC chairperson Kupwara Irfan Panditpuri said that he spoke with officials of education and DC Kupwara and they assured the matter will be resolved at the earliest. (KNS)
