J&K Cooperative Department organises grand function to celebrate 69th AIC Week at Tagore Hall
SRINAGAR, NOVEMBER 20: An impressive & grand function was today organized by J&K Cooperative Department Kashmir on the culminating ceremony of 69th All India Cooperative Week here at Tagore Hall Srinagar.
Registrar Cooperative Societies, Shafqat Iqbal, was the Chief Guest on the occasion, while Additional Commissioner Kashmir, Qazi Sarwar was the guest of honour.
Among others present in the function were Additional Registrar Cooperative Societies, Kashmir, Bilquees Jan, Deputy Registrars, Assistant Registrars, officers, employees of the department, Representatives and members of Cooperative Societies, students, Self Help Groups and general public.
Additional Registrar Cooperative Societies Kashmir while welcoming the guests and participants highlighted the importance of Cooperative Department in revitalizing the economy by Cooperative society in every sector including education, health, market, milk, food processing etc.
While speaking on the occasion, Registrar Cooperative Societies Kashmir, Shafqat Iqbal underlined the importance of the department in employment generation, utilization of local resources, preparation of new quality and refined products at cheaper prices in a competitive market.
He presented overview of the success achieved by the department with respect to ease of doing business, export production, Cooperative marketing, processing and value addition, fostering innovation, promoting startups, technology upgradation, entrepreneurship development, public- private Cooperative partnership, financial inclusion, digitization of PACS and strengthening of data base.
He said to commemorate 75th year of Independence, seventy five Cooperative programs were organised during which the policies were presented to take Cooperative Societies as a Cooperative movement.
Earlier, Registrar inspected stalls established by various Cooperatives and interacted with them. He also showed pleasure about the quality of products and packaging done by them.
He impressed on handholding of Societies and educating them regarding market knowledge to perform well which will bring vibrancy in their business and department.
On the occasion, various cultural programmes including Skit by Bashir Kootru and team, Rof, songs by yemberzal group and performances by students of Gousia Cooperative Educational Institute Panzan Budgam & Chountwaliwar Cooperative Schools Ganderbal were presented to enthral participants.
Meanwhile, ten several Cooperatives Societies felicitated with awards and momentoes while five Societies were given registration certificates by the Chief Guest. Similarly, both the Cooperative Schools were given momentoes and gift hampers for exemplary performance.
