J&K Youth Have Immense Strength; Due to Train Services, Goods Moving Fast from Kashmir: PM Modi

Jammu, Oct 13: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the youth of Jammu and Kashmir have immense strength, and with the start of train services, goods are now moving faster from the Kashmir valley.

He made these remarks while interacting with a farmer from Ganderbal district during an event in New Delhi. Fayaz Ahmad Ganaie, a progressive farmer from Ganderbal, shared how government schemes have helped him expand his farming business, employing 14 people and earning profits of Rs 15 lakh annually.

Responding to him, the Prime Minister said, “The youth of Jammu and Kashmir have immense strength. Now with the train services, goods have been moving fast from the Kashmir valley.”

The Railways recently started goods train services directly from New Delhi to Kashmir, with cars reaching Srinagar for the first time and fruits like apples being transported to Delhi.

During the event, PM Modi launched the PM Dhan Dhaanya Krishi Yojana with an outlay of Rs 24,000 crore, aimed at enhancing agricultural productivity, promoting crop diversification, and improving irrigation and credit access in 100 districts.

He also encouraged farmers to gradually adopt natural farming and shared that India’s agricultural exports have nearly doubled in the past 11 years, with major growth in food grains, fruits, vegetables, milk, fish, and honey production.

Modi said that over 10,000 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) have been established to help farmers gain better market access and cooperation, adding that the new scheme draws inspiration from the success of the Aspirational Districts model.
