Implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission reviewed in District Poonch

 POONCH, JULY 30: Additional District Development Commissioner Poonch, Abdul Sattar today reviewed the progress of works under Jal Jeevan Mission in the District here at a meeting held in the Conference hall of DC office.

The ADDC reviewed the overall progress achieved including the progress of work on ongoing Water Supply Schemes, formulation of Detailed project Reports, District Action Plan (DAP), tendering and  work allotments.

Executive Engineer Jal Shakti (PHE) Division, Muneer Hussain informed that 128 projects costing Rs 508.10 crore have been approved by District Jal Jeevan Mission (DJJM). He informed that out of 128 Schemes, 32 schemes have been proposed for Poonch subdivision, 38 Schemes for Surankote subdivision and 58 schemes for Mendhar Subdivision. He further informed that to ensure smooth execution of work , JE wise targets have been set  for completion of the projects. โ€œAn office order stands issued in this regard and the AEEs have been asked to report progress on a daily basisโ€ , he added.

A threadbare discussion was held with regard to important schemes being implemented in the district for the augmentation of the water supply.

The ADDC stressed on pacing up the progress of works to realize  the desired outcome under the flagship program of the Central Government envisaged to provide safe and adequate drinking water through   tap connections to all households in rural areas.    He further asked the concerned officers to conduct the audit of all completed works to ascertain that the works are done as per the requirements and parameters of JJM.

  He impressed upon the officers to establish testing labs under National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) so that   clean potable water is provided to the people.

 The meeting was attended by Executive Engineer Jal Shakti (PHE) Division Poonch along with AEEs, AEs, JEs and representatives of Ground Water Drilling Division Jammu.
