106 Drug traffickers detained under PIT- NDPS: Div Admin Kashmir
SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 22: In order to curb drug menace in Kashmir Division, the Divisional Administration Kashmir today said that 106 detention orders have been issued till today during the current year under Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic drugs and Psychotropic Substance Act, 1988, (PIT-NDPS).
According to the statement issued by Divisional Commissioner’s Office, 23 detention orders under PIT-NDPS were issued in Srinagar, 10 in Budgam, 01 in Ganderbal, 04 Anantnag, 08 Kulgam, 13 Pulwama, 04 in Shopian, 15 in Baramulla, 04 Bandipora and 24 in Kupwara.
The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Pandurang K Pole had earlier directed District Administrations to take strict actions against those who are involved in the illicit trafficking of drugs and are repetitive offenders.

DDC Chairperson conducts extensive tour to inspect progress on developmental projects in Ganderbal
GANDERBAL, OCTOBER 22: The Chairperson, District Development Council (DDC) Ganderbal, Nuzhat Ishfaq today conducted a day-long tour to inspect the progress on several ongoing developmental projects being executed here in Ganderbal district.
DDC Chairperson was accompanied by the ADDC Ganderbal, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani, SE R&B, Ex. Engineer R&B, CMO Ganderbal, officers of PDD besides other officers and PRIs.
During the tour, Nuzhat Ishfaq inspected progress on Wayil Bridge, up-gradation of Kurhama hospital, functioning of Badampora Grid station and other various works in the district.
She also attended a public outreach program at Kitchpara Kangan.
While inspecting the progress on Wayil Bridge, Superintending Engineer R&B Ganderbal briefed the DDC Chairperson about the design and completion of work on the bridge and was informed that two lane bridges has been approved at the cost of Rs 22 crore funded by World Bank. He said that the bridge will likely be thrown open for traffic by the end of this year.
He added that the span of the bridge is 110 meters and width is 10.50 meters; besides, length of approach roads is 330 meters.
DDC Chairperson said to construct a permanent concrete bridge over nallah Sindh near Wayil was a long pending demand and directed the executing agency to expedite the work on the Bailey bridge so that it gets completed within a given timeline.
DDC Chairperson also visited PHC Kurhama and took stock of the functioning of the hospital.
During the visit, the DDC inspected various sections of the hospital and also inspected the attendance of the staff. She directed the concerned Block Medical Officer to ensure hassle free treatment and medical care of the patients.
Meanwhile, Nuzhat Ishfaq paid a visit to Badampora Power Grid Station where she inspected the ongoing work pace which is under augmentation process.
During her visit to the Grid station, she directed the officers to strictly adhere to the schedule already announced ensuring no unscheduled power cuts take place. She took first hand information from the officers regarding the overloading of Tullamulla and Lar feeders.
Later, the DDC Chairperson presided over a public outreach programme at Kitchpara Kangan which witnessed participation of locals including PRIs who apprised her about various issues and grievances and sought her intervention for early redressal.

DC Kulgam visits D.H.Pora; listens to issues of people
Distributes Land Passbooks among land owners; instructs concerned to complete work on Aadigen Bridge within a month
KULGAM, OCTOBER 22: Taking governance at the door steps of people, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr.Bilal-Mohi-Ud-Din-Bhat today visited D.H.Pora Noorabad where he listened to demands, issues and grievances of people for early redressal.
People from the area put forth various developmental requirements of their areas. All the issues were listened to patiently by the DC and several issues were redressed on the spot.
The DC also distributed Land Passbooks among the land owners under Jan Abhiyan programme.
Earlier, the DC also visited Aadigen Bridge and took stock of current physical status of this bridge which is under the execution of R&B department and instructed officers of R&B to complete the bridge within a month.
It was informed that the Bridge is approved project under languishing scheme and will come up with an estimated cost of Rs 17.97 crore
The Bridge consists of 7 x 42 Mtr spans and 148 Mtr Dead span and about 90 percent of work on the bridge has been completed.

DC B’pora chairs Revenue meeting
Directs for cent per cent land passbook generation & distribution
BANDIPORA, OCTOBER 22: To review the functioning of Revenue Department and ensure efficient and prompt public service delivery in the district, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad today chaired a meeting of the Revenue Department at DC Office Complex, here.
The meeting held threadbare deliberations on various Revenue related matters including, writing of Jamabandies, recovery fee, progress under preparation of digitization, redressal of grievances, digitization of property details etc.
On the occasion, the DC was given a detailed account of the different Revenue related matters of the district.
In addition to progress achieved under Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme (DILRMP), the latest update about the status of redressal of online/offline Grievances was also collected.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that updation of Revenue records is a core work of Revenue department and is also a basic requirement of every household for which coordinated team work is key to achieve set targets in a time bound manner.
He said performance of Revenue Officers will be strictly monitored on the parameters of updation of Revenue records and authentication of records preceding digitisation.
He asked the Tehsildars to further improve the public service delivery system at their respective Tehsil Offices.He also asked them to activate their field staff to keep proper check and vigil on any kind of encroachments in respective jurisdiction while directing them to intensify anti-encroachment drives.
He instructed all Tehsildars to ensure quality disposal of all online/offline Grievances in a time bound manner.

Firewood distribution to registered agencies to commence from November 05 at P. C. Depot
SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 22: The Forest Department today informed all the registered Agencies/Mosques of Srinagar City to approach the Range Officer, Timber Transport Range, P.C.Depot, Qamerwari from 01st of November, 2022 with their indent through proper channel for issuance of yearly firewood quota.
It was also informed that the distribution of Firewood shall be started from 5th November 2022
As per the targets, about 40000 Qtl of firewood have been dumped at P.C.Depot for this purpose. Urban Forestry Division, Srinagar is committed to accelerate the process of distribution so that the supply of firewood to registered agencies and mosques of Srinagar is completed well in time particularly to tide over harsh winter (Chillai Kalaan).

4858 Housing Units to be constructed under PMAY Rural & Urban sector in B’pora
DC B’pora reviews implementation of PMAY Urban & Gramin
BANDIPORA, OCTOBER 22: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad today chaired a meeting to review the implementation and progress under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) Urban and Rural schemes in the district.
The DC directed the concerned officers to ensure that the scheme guidelines are followed in letter and spirit so that all genuine eligible beneficiaries are covered under the scheme in the district.
He took Tehsil wise and Ward wise review of the scheme and progress made so far and enjoined upon the concerned officers to compile the data about the beneficiaries by checking all parameters as per the scheme guidelines including title verification as per revenue records, proper Aadhaar seeding and geo-tagging of all the cases.
On the occasion, the DC asked all the concerned officers to ensure not a single genuine beneficiary is left out of the coverage of the scheme. He said the District should be 100 percent saturated within the timeframe set by the Government.
District Programme Officer Nodal Officer Coordination Mohd Ashraf Hakak, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Joint Director Planning, CEO Municipal Council Bandipora, besides all Tehsildars and Block Development Officers participated in the meeting.
The chair was informed that work is in progress on 1900 houses under PMAY-Urban out of the total target of 3400 houses.
Under PMAY-Gramin 1205 houses have been taken up out of the total target of 1458 Houses.
It was given out that a total of 4858 houses will be constructed under the PMAY Urban and Rural schemes in the district.
Dr Owais directed officers to ensure proper implementation of schemes and time bound completion of the houses.

Awareness Rally on BBBP held at Budgam
BUDGAM, OCTOBER 22: The District Hub for Empowerment of Women Budgam today organized a rally to spread awareness among the people about the need and significance of educating the girl child besides highlighting adverse impact on society due to the decline in sex ratio.
Scores of girl students of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Budgam of the district participated in the rally and raised slogans in favour of Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao.
The rally started from GHSS New and culminated at DC office Complex Budgam
The DHEW-MS headed by District Mission Coordinator, Afroza Bhat highlighted the need for creating greater awareness among the masses about the BBBP scheme and about the importance of girl child in society.
She further said that the aim of organizing the awareness rally was to sensitize the community about saving, educating and ensuring the dignity of the girl child.

Jan Abhiyan: Array of activities conducted across Bandipora
Intensified efforts being taken to saturate the Deliverables
BANDIPORA, OCTOBER 22: An array of activities has been conducted today by various departments under the Jan Abhiyan campaign in Bandipora.
It is worth mentioning here that the departments have been conducting different activities since October 15 in the run up to the fourth phase of the Back to Village programme.
Today continuing the trend, multifarious activities were conducted by various departments, across the length and breadth of the district to make the campaign more vibrant and effective to ensure achievement of set Deliverables.
All departments keeping in view their Targets have embarked upon their Universal Coverage.
Forest, Industries, Revenue, Health, School and Higher Education, Agriculture, RDD, Animal and Sheep Husbandry and other departments have taken lead in the campaign.
Soil Health Cards, Golden Cards generation and Distribution camps have been organised along with Awareness camps on Social Welfare schemes, Employment Generation schemes.
Other activities held today include Van Se Jal, Jal Se Jeevan; One Beat Guard, One Village Programme; Fodder Distribution; Van Mitras of Forest Department, Training of Employees, SHG, Cooperative members, My College, My Pride Cleanliness Drives by GDCs, Swatch Hospitals, Block level registration camps for Artisans, popularisation of Digital Services, Awareness on Water Quality and Water Testing under JJM, Role of Pani Samitis.
Similarly, sports activities, registration under Mumkin Scheme, Aap ki Zameen Apki Nigrani awareness Camps, INAPH Tagging of Livestock and other activities for the purpose of saturation of Deliverables have been also organised, across the district.
All departments have been instructed by the District Administration to complete the desired targets set under the Abhiyan before 26 October, 2022.

Jan Abhiyan: Horti Dept B’gam conducts Awareness camp at Nagbal Kanidajan & Watakaloo Loolipora
BUDGAM, OCTOBER 22: The Horticulture Department Budgam today organised an awareness programme under Jan Abhiyan at Panchayat Ghar Nagbal in presence of concerned PRIs and various farmers.
On the occasion various Departmental schemes were discussed and their significance was highlighted among the farmer community including the PM KUSUM scheme.
Besides this, 15 Soil health Cards were also distributed on spot by District Level Subject Matter Specialist (Pathology) and HDO Kandajan.

DPO B’pora flags-off CSC Van under Jan Abhiyan, B2V- 4
Van hosting complete Package, Module on Digital Services
BANDIPORA, OCTOBER 22: The District Programme Officer (DPO) Bandipora (Nodal Officer, Coordination), Mohd Ashraf Hakak today flagged off CSC Van for purpose of awareness generation and provision of on spot Digital Services under the ambitious programme of Jan Abhiyan and Back to Village campaigns.
The Van hosts complete package/ Module on Digital Services being offered by different Departments.
The CSC operators during its seven days stay in Bandipora shall provide on spot online services to people with complete demonstration of efficiency of IT enabled public services, said JDP on the occasion.
The Van shall tour the rural areas of the district during the campaign and provide dozens of IT enabled govt services to the public at their doorstep in prominent rural localities.
In order to better Government- Citizen Relationship, Jan Abhiyan (Awami Muhim) and Back To Village-4 has been launched by J&K Administration and flagging-off Van is an important event in the run up to the B2V-4.
The initiative is the first of its kind, proactive Government-beneficiary interface campaign which aims to demonstrate the efficiency and capability of government functionaries in addressing the issues of the general public.
The programme of Jan Abhiyan has been set with a view to achieve 100 percent saturation in Individual Beneficiary Schemes (IBS) and self employment schemes so that special focus shall be given to the effective implementation of welfare and developmental schemes before conduct of B2V-4.
PRI representatives, officials play a pivotal role in this regard and they shall educate the people about various welfare programmes and schemes.

SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 22: The Director Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), Ajaz Ahmad Bhat today chaired a preparatory meeting with all Vertical/Scheme In Charges and District Nodal Officers of the Institute regarding activities to be undertaken in Jan Abhiyan and ‘Back to Village’ programme phase IV (B2V4) across J&K UT.
The officers of the districts and Jammu region were connected online.
On the occasion, the Director deliberated upon the set targets for Jan Abhiyan and B2V4 for the Institute and stressed on an all inclusive and a vigorous approach towards involving all sections of the society and enrolling them under different self employment and capacity building schemes of the Institute.
He directed the officers to organize public outreach programs in every district involving panchayats and various social groups in the villages with a proper synergy with all the concerned line departments.
He further directed In Charges of the Centre for Women Entrepreneurship to involve women in their outreach programs across the UT. The Director and faculty of the Institute will also visit villages across the UT to participate and create awareness regarding various government schemes and initiatives.
Meanwhile, a delegation of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kashmir Chapter headed by its Chairman, Vicky Shaw met the Director, JKEDI today.
Director JKEDI stressed on the need to have collaboration with PHD Chamber for creating an enabling entrepreneurial ecosystem across the UT. The chamber requested to conduct knowledge exchange programs with the faculty of the Institute and reach out to the schools, colleges and the universities.
The delegation assured handholding support to the aspiring entrepreneurs and startups to use MSME facilitation centers, IPR and other services.

Director Agriculture Kashmir visits Saffron fields of Balhama
GI Tagging opened new windows for Kashmir saffron at global level: Chowdhary Iqbal
SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 22: The Director Agriculture Kashmir, Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal today visited saffron fields of Balhama and adjacent areas to oversee saffron harvesting and flower picking which is going on in full swing these days.
Speaking to the saffron growers, Director Agriculture said that geographical indication GI Tagging has built a global reputation for Kashmir Saffron.
He said it has opened new windows for Kashmir saffron and the department is endeavoring to ensure that all the globally accepted quality parameters are met during the cultivation and post harvest management of the saffron. GI tagging is making saffron a success story, headded.
Iqbal asked the saffron growers to avail facilities from the IIKSTC and ensure that all the mandatory set parameters are taken care of. He said that saffron growers could get maximum price for their produce by taking benefit from the e-marketing facilities at IIKSTC.
He said Kashmir saffron is finding ways to net markets at international level and the department is continuously endeavoring to ensure that the concerned growers’ economic interests are secured at all levels.
The Director Agriculture directed the concerned officers and technical experts to work in close coordination with the saffron growers and guide them during all the pre and post harvesting operations.
The Director was accompanied by Joint Director Agriculture Extension, Chief Agriculture Officer Srinagar, Chief Agriculture Officer, District Agriculture Officer, Agriculture Information Officer Kashmir, some senior officers and technical officers from the Department.
Later, the Director visited Noorpora, Lurgam, Tral areas of Pulwama to monitor the agriculture activities under the Rabi campaign.
