#GMC Doda commemorates International Nurses Day
DODA MAY 14: The Department of Nursing Government Medical College Doda celebrated “International Nurses Day” to commemorate the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale” pioneer of modern nursing.
The progamme focused on this year’s theme “Nurses- A Voice to Lead- Invest in Nursing and Respect Rights to Secure Global Health” and started with lightening of ceremonial Lamp & Prayers.
Dean & Principal Prof. Dr. Noor Ali, while speaking on the occasion, lauded nursing workforce at GMC Doda for their dedication and said their significant contribution during the pandemic was a glaring example of commitment and dedication. “In healthcare structure Nurse is important and plays a main role in managing the comforts of the patient” he said.
Earlier, Assistant Professor Department of Physiology & Coordinator Nursing GMC Doda, Dr. Suman Bala welcomed the guests and thanked administration of GMC Doda for continuous support.
The first batch of B.Sc Nursing 1st-yr students were formally inducted into the Noble Profession of Nursing by reciting the Nightingale pledge and Anthem from the Nursing fraternity.
The students also participated in series of competitions like Rangoli, Digital Quiz, debate competition. A cultural programme featuring Singing and Group Dance was also presented by students and teachers. The winners of competitions were awarded with trophies by Chief Guest
The function was attended by Medical Superintendent Dr Yudvir Singh Kotwal, HODs of all departments, Chief Accounts Officer, Faculty GMC Doda, Matron AH GMC Doda, Nursing Staff, Nursing Faculty, Administrative Staff and Nursing Students of GMC Doda.
