Girl Rescued After Jumping Into Jhelum in Sopore; Search On for Missing Fisherman

Srinagar, Aug 17 — A girl was saved by rescuers on Sunday after she jumped into the Jhelum river in Sopore, North Kashmir, officials said.
According to reports, a 65-year-old fisherman, Ali Mohammad Dar of Muslim Peer Sopore, drowned earlier while in his boat. Teams from the SDRF and police launched a rescue operation to trace him.
During the search, a girl also leapt into the river but was swiftly pulled out alive by the rescue team. Efforts to locate the missing fisherman are continuing.
