Over 200 Artisans, entrepreneurs acquainted to key schemes
KISHTWAR, MARCH 16: An Awareness Programme on PM Vishwakarma Scheme was today organized at the Conference Hall of New DC Office, Complex Kishtwar by the MSMEโ€“Development & Facilitation Office, Jammu, Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Government of India.
Around 200 artisans, entrepreneurs and aspiring youth attended the programme.
The programme commenced with a welcome address and brief introduction of the scheme by Assistant Director, MSME-DFO Jammu, Venu Jee Koul.
The event was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Sharma as the Chief Guest.
Joint Director, MSME-DFO Jammu Amit Kumar Tamaria delivered the keynote address and elaborated on the objectives and benefits of the central schemes being implemented by the Ministry of MSME for the development of micro and small enterprises.
General Manager, District Industries Centre Dr. Rishi Sharma and SDM Marwah Mohammad Ashraf, also addressed the gathering and emphasized the need to promote entrepreneurship and strengthen local industries to generate sustainable employment opportunities.
The technical session featured a detailed presentation on the schemes of the Ministry of MSME including the PM Vishwakarma Scheme delivered by Venu Jee Koul. District Officer KVIB, Shah Mohammad Mir spoke about the schemes of the Board including PMEGP and REGP. Assistant Director, Department of Handicrafts & Handloom, Pardeep Kumar Shan, highlighted the schemes and initiatives of the H&H Department for artisans.
A Senior Faculty Member from the Institute explained the role of JKEDI in skill development and entrepreneurship promotion.
The Director RSETI also addressed the participants and informed them about the training programmes offered by the institution to enhance skills and promote self-employment among rural youth.
Further, Lead District Manager, Harsh Rawal provided information on financial assistance and credit facilities available through banks, while Representative IPPB, Shiv Deep explained the process of IPPB account opening and QR code generation for digital transactions.
The programme concluded with an interactive question and answer session where participants raised their queries regarding the schemes and opportunities available for artisans and entrepreneurs.
The event ended with a formal vote of thanks by the MSME-DFO Jammu.
