DODA, SEPTEMBER 28: An Orientation Cum Counselling program for drivers of Government Vehicles & School Buses was organized by Motor Vehicles Department Doda here at district Police Lines.

The program was attended by about 50 drivers of different departments & Schools.

 During the Programme, ARTO, Kuldeep Singh delivered a detailed lecture on the various Parameters of Road Safety to be adopted by drivers of the Govt Vehicles. He asked them to be a Role Model for the other drivers in terms of following Road Safety and individual safety and discipline.

He also briefed about the Road Safety Parameters to be followed by Drivers of the School Buses for the Safety and Security of the School going Children. He further explained to the school bus drivers about the danger zone while boarding & De-boarding the students.โ€You need to take extra care to ensure Safety of the Studentsโ€™ he advised them. The ARTO also spoke about the Nasha Mukt Bhartat Abhiyan and stressed upon the drivers to stay away from any type of Drugs/intoxicant substances to lead a Healthy Life and Safety of the others.

He emphasises on following safe speed norms, avoiding use of cellphone while driving and wearing of seat belt. He also revealed the statistical figures of the Road Accident Scenario around the World, in our Country, in UT of J&K as well as in Doda District. He disclosed that there are about 17 deaths per hour in our Country and about 1.5 lakh deaths annually on Indian Roads due to Road Accidents. The alarming Figures of the Road Accidents were shared with the participants to sensitize them about the Road accidents and its ill- effects on our society.

Shoket Ali, Dy.SP (DAR) also attended the said program and addressed the participants on Road Safety and Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.

The program was conducted on the directions of Deputy Commissioner, Vishesh Paul Mahajan issued during the District Road Safety Committee Meeting held on 20-09-2022.
