DMRRR celebrates ‘Digital J&K Week 2022’
Secretary outlines digital achievements during mela
SRINAGAR, JULY 27: Government of J&K is celebrating “Digital J&K, Week 2022” from 25th to 31st, July which was earlier inaugurated by Lt. Governor, J&K Manoj Sinha on 25th July at SKICC, Srinagar.
The week is being celebrated as J&K Digital Mela with an aim to facilitate the public, so that they are made aware of e-services provided by various departments.
As part of the ongoing Digital Mela, the Department of Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (DMRRR) also held a session to celebrate the occasion during which the department outlined their digital achievements and services.
Secretary DMRRR, Nazim Zai Khan presided over the Digital Mela celebrations in the department. The session was also attended by Relief Commissioner (Migrants), KK Sidha; Nodal Officer SEOC, Aamir Ali; Commandant SDRF and Home Guards, Firdous Iqbal; Director Finance DMRRR, Kulbushan Kumar; Director Geology and Mining, Om Prakash; Secretary Cultural Academy, representatives from SDRF, Fire & Emergency Services, NDRF, Indian Meteorological Department, Faculty from various Colleges, and senior representatives from DMRRR and other allied departments.
During the session, Secretary, DMRRR, gave a detailed overview of the department and remarked that DMRRR has successfully implemented digitally enabled services for the benefit of common masses. He added that Information Technology tools are being used as an interface between government and public to resolve their grievances. He said that DMRR&R has also launched several services in the field of Disaster Management which have enabled the stakeholders to promptly prepare and respond to any incident in a better way.
Speaking during the session, Relief Commissioner (Migrants), J&K, gave a detailed presentation on services provided for the ease of migrants and displaced persons. He said that they have enabled online services for Registration, EWS, Domicile and grievance disposal with the help of digitally enabled platforms.
Iftikhar Hakeem, Director P&C, JTFRP along with Consultants from RMSI, highlighted the tools developed under JTFRP, with World Bank funding, including Digital Risk Database and Decision Support System, to deal with any untoward incident in an effective manner.
On the occasion, Secretary DMRRR also launched the departmental website jksdma.jk.gov.infor the common people.
