DLSA Samba holds awareness program on ‘Gender Sensitization at Workplace’
SAMBA, JUNE 02: The District Legal Services Authority, Samba, with the objective of generating awareness on Gender related issues and raising sensitization on the provisions of the Sexual Harassment of Woman at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2018, organized an awareness programme on the topic ‘Gender Sensitization at Workplace’ at District Court Complex, Samba.
The awareness programme was inaugurated by Sonia Gupta, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority (Principal District & Sessions Judge), Samba, while Arvind Sharma, CJM Samba (Presiding Officer, GSLCC) and Poonam Gupta, Munsiff Samba (Member, GSLCC) were the resource persons in the programme.
Sonia Gupta highlighted the significance of generating awareness on the pertinent issue of sexual harassment at workplaces and emphasized the need of gender sensitization for both men and women.
Arvind Sharma dealt with various aspects of gender sensitization. He apprised the participants on issues related to gender including gender discrimination, stereotypes, prejudices and gender equality.
Poonam Gupta discussed the provisions of Sexual Harassment of Woman at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2018 and also highlighted the Gender Sensitization & Sexual Harassment of Women at The High Court and Subordinate Courts, of Jammu & Kashmir (Prevention, Prohibition & Redressal) Regulations, 2016.
Slahuddin Ahmed, Sub Judge/Secretary, DSLA Samba conducted the proceedings of the programme.
