DLSA Anatnag organizes Awareness programme on Women Empowerment
ANANTNAG, FEBRUARY 23: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Anantnag in collaboration with Government Degree College for Women Anantnag today organized a programme on โWomen Empowermentโ at the auditorium of GDC Women Anantnag.
On the occasion, Secretary DLSA Anantnag delivered a special address to the participants and gave insights pertaining to the Empowerment of the Women. She said the first empowerment begins with considering to be worthy at par with men, giving them power to make their decisions and removing all forms of restrictions and constraints which hamper their decision making power.
In order to make women self-dependent, there is a need to promote Social empowerment, Economic empowerment, Educational empowerment is crucial and germane to all other forms of empowerment, besides, skill development among women in non-traditional works like electricians, plumbers etc., Secretary DLSA said adding that Women can be organized into different professional groups so that there is improvement in their bargaining power.
She said platforms like Digital India should be used for seeing funds are utilised for women empowerment, their safety etc.
The programme was attended by, Secretary DLSA Anantnag Deputy Chief LADC, Assistant LADC Anantnag, staff members and Para Legal Volunteersโ of DLSA Anantnag besides officers of Sakhi One Stop Centre Anantnag, District Hub for Empowerment of Women Anantnag and nominated persons in Special Cell of Women and students of the college.
