DES organises one day training programme on Registration of Births & Deaths through CRS portal
JAMMU, NOVEMBER 5: The Directorate of Economics & Statistics (DES), J&K today organised One Day Training Programme on โRegistration of Births & Deaths through Civil Registration System (CRS) Portal for the District Level Master Trainers (Chief Medical Officers- District Registrars and District Statistics & Evaluation Officers- Additional District Registrars) here.
The training programme was organised by the department in collaboration with Director Census Operations, J&K and was held under the patronage of Director General, Economics & Statistics, J&K (Chief Registrar, Births & Deaths, J&K), Satvir Kour Sudan.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Registrar Births & Deaths, J&K elucidated about the need for implementation of Civil Registration System- Registration of Birth & Death Rules- 2022 in the UT of Jammu & Kashmir.
During the training programme, Joint Director (Central) gave a detailed presentation about the implementation of the Civil Registration System (Registration of Birth & Death Rules, 2022), duties and responsibilities of registration functionaries. A detailed future roadmap for shifting to online registration through Web Portal of ORGI for Registration of Births and Deaths and action required to be taken by the line departments for implementation of the Civil registration System was also talked about through the presentation.
Similarly, Deputy Director, Census Operations, J&K highlighted the use and purpose of Birth and Death Certificates along with the importance of recording of the occurrence and the characteristics of the vital events which is subsequently used to study the demographic profile and other features. He also highlighted the role of local registrars and areas falling within their jurisdiction for issuance of Birth and Death Certificates followed by imparting training to the Master trainers/ participants for switching over to the online Registration of Births and Deaths through CRS Portal.
Among others, the training programme was also attended by Regional Director (E&S), Kashmir/ Jammu (Additional Chief Registrar), Joint Director (Central), DES (Deputy Chief Registrar), Deputy Director (HQ), Directorate of Health Services, Jammu/ Kashmir (Assistant Chief Registrar). Besides, Joint Director (Administration), Directorate of Rural Development, Jammu/ Kashmir also participated in the training programme. Officers and Registration Functionaries from Kashmir Division participated through virtual mode.
