DC Shopian reviews implementation & progress of works under JJM
Put in coordinated efforts to achieve target under JJM: DC
SHOPIAN, DECEMBER 01: In order to review the implementation of projects taken up under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in the district, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya Thursday chaired a meeting of concerned Officers in his office chamber, here.
At the outset, the DC took a detailed review of the progress of works on key infrastructural projects. He also took a firsthand appraisal about the status of schemes under languishing projects taken up and Revamping of various Water Treatment Plants of different capacities, Improvement & Extension of pipe network.
A threadbare discussion was held with regard to the status of several aspects of implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission including physical and financial status of various projects under JJM.
The meeting was informed that out of 107 works under different schemes, 22 works stand tendered and Letter of Intent and allotment in respect of JJM stands issued for works.
The DC directed all the concerned to expedite work on all the ongoing works to complete the projects within stipulated time frame.
He exhorted the engineers to put in coordinated efforts to achieve the target so that people are benefited from the schemes.
Vaishya said that the Mission is envisioned to provide safe and adequate drinking water through individual household tap connections to all households of the district.
Among others, the meeting was attended by ADDC Shopian, Manzoor Hussain; Superintendent Engineer, Jal Shakti Hydraulic; Project Officer Wage Employment (ACD); Chief Medical Officer, Dy Chief Education Officer, Divisional Forest Officer, Executive Engineers besides other concerned engineers and officers.
