DC Samba reviews progress of PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana registration

SAMBA, AUGUST 22: Deputy Commissioner Samba Ayushi Sudan today chaired a review meeting at the District Administrative Complex, to assess the progress of registrations under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. The meeting reaffirmed the district administration’s commitment towards public welfare, clean energy and transparent governance.
Addressing the officers, the DC emphasized the importance of maximizing the scheme’s reach by conducting intensive awareness campaigns at the grassroots level. She directed all concerned officers and vendors to adopt a proactive, door-to-door approach to inform people about the benefits of the scheme, including significantly reduced electricity bills through subsidized rooftop solar installations.
Ms. Sudan urged officials to work in close coordination with all stakeholders to ensure seamless and transparent implementation. She further directed that targets be achieved in a time-bound manner, while ensuring every eligible household is covered under the scheme.
“The PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana is a transformative step towards energy security and household savings. It is the responsibility of the administration to ensure that no eligible family is left behind,” the DC remarked.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Samba, Champa Devi Thakur; Chief Planning Officer Samba, Kasturi Lal; XEN PDD, Er. Javed Hussain Akhtar; sectoral officers; representatives of concerned departments and empanelled vendors.
