DC reviews arrangements for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026 at Udhampur
UDHAMPUR, MARCH 11: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Minga Sherpa today chaired a meeting of officers from the line departments to review preparedness and arrangements for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Prem Singh along with district officers from concerned departments.
Detailed discussions were held regarding the arrangements along the Yatra route from Tikri to Chenani. The issues deliberated upon included security arrangements, provision of safe drinking water, uninterrupted power supply, first-aid and medical facilities, sanitation measures, identification of stay locations, installation of temporary toilets, lodging facilities, arrangements for langers, as well as traffic management.
The DC issued necessary directions to the heads of the stakeholder departments to ensure foolproof arrangements well in advance. “All departments must work in close coordination to finalize and implement the required arrangements in a timely manner,” he emphasized.
The JPDCL was directed to take measures to ensure uninterrupted power supply along the Yatra route, while Jal Shakti Department was asked to arrange water tankers round the clock for the convenience of the Yatris.
Stressing the importance of sanitation and cleanliness, the DC directed the Municipal Council to make preemptive arrangements for installation of adequate dustbins and deployment of vehicles for the proper disposal of garbage from langer sites and lodgement centres.
