DC Ramban reviews arrangements for upcoming religious events, festivals
RAMBAN, MARCH 11: Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Alyas Khan, today chaired a meeting to review and finalize arrangements for upcoming religious events including Navratras, Ram Navami, -Shab-e-Qadar, Jumat-ul-Vida and Eid-ul-Fitr- all scheduled across next week.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned departments to ensure foolproof arrangements for the smooth and peaceful celebration of the festivals. He emphasized the need for coordinated efforts among departments to facilitate devotees and maintain essential services during the festive period.
The Deputy Commissioner reviewed arrangements related to security, traffic management, sanitation, drinking water supply, power supply, healthcare facilities, fire and emergency services, availability of essential commodities and overall civic amenities at major temples and other religious places. He also directed the enforcement authorities to conduct market checking to prevent overpricing and ensure the availability of essential items.
The Jal Shakti Department and JPDCL were asked to ensure uninterrupted water and power supply during the festival days. The CMO was instructed to ensure the availability of medical staff and emergency services.
The DC directed the SDMs to review the arrangements in their respective jurisdictions. He further directed the Municipal Council and other local bodies to maintain cleanliness around religious and public places, while the Fire and Emergency Services Department was asked to remain on alert for any emergency situation.
The Senior Superintendent of Police Arun Gupta briefed the representatives from civil society about the security arrangements around religious places and other busy areas to ensure public safety. He also sought cooperation from the public and advised management committees to install CCTV cameras around religious places to strengthen security and surveillance.
Representatives from Religious organizations, Temple Management Committees and Beopar Mandal participated in the meeting and assured full cooperation with the administration for the successful and peaceful conduct of the festivals.
The meeting was attended by ACR Showkat Hayat Mattoo, ACD, SDMs, CMOs, AD FCS&CA, CEO MC Ramban, Engineers of Jal Shakti, JPDCL, representatives of temple management committees and other concerned officers.
