DC #Rajouri discusses modalities for demarcation of low-lying land
RAJOURI, MAY 04: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal today chaired a meeting of the concerned officers to discuss the strategy for the effective implementation of the guidelines issued by the Government regarding delineation of Gair Mumkin khad, Gair Mumkin Darya and Gair Mumkin Nallah.
Officers who attended the meeting included DFO Nowshera, Neelima; ADC Rajouri, Sachin Dev Singh; ACR, Imran Rashid Kataria; ACD, Vijay Kumar; SE Hydraulics, JP Singh; EOs and other concerned officers.
At the outset, the meeting was informed that the J&K Govt has approved the procedure for delineation and demarcation of land categorised as Gair Mumkin Khads, Daryas, Nallahs and others that do not form part of water channels but have been recorded in revenue records as such.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the decision was expected to help people who have contested the erroneous entries of water bodies in the existing revenue records.
He added that the process, once completed, may also help resolve ongoing litigations besides allowing owners of such lands to transact and carry out different economic/non-economic activities.
The DC also asked the concerned officers to put in place added efforts to ensure the effective implementation of the guidelines issued in this context so that necessary benefits are provided to the general public.
