DC Poonch reviews SDRF preparedness amid ongoing monsoon challenges

POONCH, AUGUST 15: Deputy Commissioner Poonch Ashok Kumar Sharma chaired a meeting to review the preparedness of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and other departments in view of ongoing monsoon risks, including flash floods and landslides.
The meeting reviewed the status of roads, housing infrastructure, landslide-prone areas and availability of SDRF equipment. The Deputy Commissioner directed all SDMs, tehsildars, police officials and SDRF teams to activate field units and remain on high alert to ensure prompt response to rain-related incidents.
SDMs and tehsildars briefed on damages in their areas. The Deputy Commissioner stressed fair and transparent assessment of damaged houses and instructed that relief files be prepared for all genuinely affected individuals. Tehsildars were directed to submit daily reports on flash floods or weather-related incidents, and complete all damage assessment files within five days for submission to the DC Office.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Tahir Mustafa Malik, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Mohd. Sayeed, Assistant Commissioner Development (holding additional charge of CEO Municipality) Shakeel Ahmed, Chief Agriculture Officer, SE PWD (R&B), XEN JPDCL, XEN PWD (R&B), all tehsildars and SDRF in-charge. SDMs and other tehsildars joined virtually.
