DC Kishtwar inspects work on Ikhala–Lopara Road Project; Directs early start of Suid Bridge construction

KISHTWAR, SEPTEMBER 24: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Pankaj Kumar Sharma conducted a site visit to inspect the progress of the “Ikhala Block Boundary Kishtwar Hanzala via Lopara” Road project.
The DC was accompanied by SDM Marwah, Dr. Mohd. Ashraf, Executive Engineer PMGSY Marwah, Farooq Ahmed and other senior officers.
The Executive Engineer PMGSY Marwah apprised the Deputy Commissioner about the current status of the road and bridge works. During the inspection, the DC directed the contractor to commence construction of the 35-meter span bridge over Suid Nallah (Km 47, Rd 475–525 spot) within two days.
He further directed the PMGSY Department to lay GSB and WBM on the remaining road stretch from Howri Bridge to the Suid Nallah site so that vehicular movement up to the bridge point can be facilitated within one month.
The DC also emphasized that the riding surface of the road must be improved and that protection works particularly retaining walls and drainage should be executed in full swing at all required locations.
He directed PMGSY officials to submit progress reports on the contractor’s work every 15 days and ensure that the entire project is completed in a time-bound manner adhering to quality standards and project specifications.
